The Scottish Prize for Fine Art, an open exhibition and art prize, is dedicated to recognising and celebrating the best in contemporary art with a connection to Scotland. Artists who reside, study, or draw inspiration from Scotland are invited to submit their works for consideration. The Prize offers a platform for established and emerging artists to showcase their skills and techniques, and provides a unique opportunity for audiences to discover and be inspired by the diversity and ingenuity of art with a Scottish connection. With a focus on both personal and universal narratives, the exhibitions will be engaging, thought-provoking, and a true testament to the exceptional talent of artists with a connection to Scotland. Our open exhibtion represents an opportunity to reveal the exceptional talents of both new and established artists connecting with Scotland.
Up to one hundred submissions will be selected for an exhibition to be staged in October 2023 at the historic Glasgow Art Club. The exhibition will also be staged concurrently online. The submitted work is expected to be the artist’s depiction of a recognisable life form, object, or scene
About the Scottish Prize for Fine Art
We are pleased to invite eligible artists to enter the Scottish Prize for Fine Art. Eligible entries include paintings, drawings (including pastel, charcoal and all dry media), or hand-made prints that have a connection to Scotland through the artist's place of birth, training, or subject matter. The submitted work is expected to be the artist’s depiction of a recognisable life form, object or scene.
A panel of seasoned art experts will judge submissions based on innovation, skill, and creativity in representing the subject. Up to four pieces may be submitted per artist. The selected works will be displayed in an exclusive show at the historic Glasgow Art Club in October 2023, as well as online.
This is a unique opportunity for artists to showcase their talent and have their work recognized by a highly-qualified panel of judges. Submit your finest pieces now and join the ranks of some of the most celebrated artists in Scotland.
